Our facilitators are mentors with years of experience in guiding early learners into a smooth transition from pre-school to high school. Here’s our journey in a nutshell, it encapsulates our crucial landmarks. It serves as an inspiration for us to do better every single day for the parents and learners associated with us.

GSBB, was established in June, 1999, under the wing of Gopal Sharma Group of Schools.

GSBB runs independently and strive to gain a reputation as centres of excellence in pre-school education. Currently, with a fully experienced, well-trained team of facilitators and staff, our enrolments are increasing every year and with it GSBB Powai Vihar is gaining prominence among its peers.

Our Team

Our entire team is well-qualified to teach young students. The team is rigorously trained from time to time and their skills are enhanced with the latest developments and revelations in child psychology. We undertake regular research to continuously improve our teaching styles and the contents of our curriculum.

OUR PERSPECTIVE ON EARLY CHILD EDUCATION

We equip our learners to conduct social interactions with confidence, demonstrate skills efficiently and navigate emotions in a smooth manner. A structured and scientific approach to early childhood education empowers our learners with much-needed foundational skills and prepares them holistically for higher learning stages.

Our programmes and activities are devoted to help a child make visible progress in these 5 critical areas:

Cognitive Development

A child-centric education program that provides a step-by-step development-oriented curriculum can help the student develop critical cognitive skills at the appropriate age. Early education builds on the child's existing skills and guides them with the love to acquire new skills and a learning temperament. Early childhood education facilitates students to achieve their age-appropriate milestones by sharpening their logical thinking, increasing attention spans and developing good motor skill.

Social and Emotional Development

A well-trained pre-school teaching staff gives adequate attention to each child while playing, painting, recitations, drama, excursion & incursion and celebrations, creating space for students to interact. These activities enable a student to form human bonds with fellow students and adults. Early education makes the students emotionally secure and they develop a sense of trust in society. Moreover, daily interactions increase the student's communication skills and creative and explorative behaviour. Early Pre-school education helps the students get used to a daily routine and prepares them for formal school education making it the most important skill set for facilitators.

Literacy and Language Development

Language development lays the foundation for the reading and writing skills in preschoolers as they enter and progress through their formative years. Language development occurs early, so starting with pre-school at an appropriate age is necessary. Daily interaction with the peer group will ensure development of their vocabulary and conversational skills. Language development is very closely linked to literacy of a child. A plethora of research has been done and it has been proven that early literacy is closely connected to language development during the kindergarten years.

Creative Development

At a pre-school, a student gets to participate in a lot of activities like painting, colour mixing, clay dough, sensory touches, storybook reading, craft making among others. All these activities develop and nurture the creativity of students. They start to get innovative and explorative.

Physical Development

Educators try to keep a student active through activities like yoga, running, jumping, dancing, playing games and more. All these fun activities help build a student's fitness and stamina during the formative years. Even motor skills of hand-eye coordination and control over finger movements are easily developed within the student.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Infrastructure has a profound effect on a child’s mind and behaviour. Our child-centric infrastructure is built with love and provides a safe and joyful learning atmosphere. Classrooms, activity rooms and playground infrastructure are all curated keeping the safety of students in mind. The thoughtfully planned infrastructure at GSBB Powai Vihar has been customised to support the learners in making a smoother transition to ICSE or SSC board.

Child-Friendly Building and Furniture

Brick by brick, we have built our school, keeping in mind the safety and well-being of our students. The school provides a calm environment where your child can freely engage, learn, respond, and play wholeheartedly. Our building is colourful and has large open and closed spaces where students enhance their creativity, interact with fellow students, and bond with the pre-school. The architecture is child-centric and attracts students towards it.

The classroom, activity room, and playground furniture are curated while keeping the safety of students in mind. An entire floor is designated to our preschoolers giving them safe and secure environment.

Mini Auditorium

Our Mini Auditorium provides just the right stage to express the budding talents of our students. Music, dance, role-plays, drama, theatre, elocution, current affairs, Sci-fari, annual day function, fancy dress and even poem recitals, this is the place that celebrates the creativity of every student. Our facilitators are there to facilitate programmes and make sure the students are channelising their energy and joy, right in the centre of the school.

Music Room

Young minds are positively stimulated by music. Many of our students love to sing, and we want to give them an opportunity to nurture their singing skills. Moreover, our smiling teachers and our dedicated music professional expose them to the basics of music and eventually students sing and recite songs and develop the sense of music. This activity enhances the self-expression skills and inclines them to music.

Dance Room

Dance is the soul in motion. And nothing captures the joy and exuberance of our students than their movements to music and rhythm. Our dance room is a place for our students to learn to dance with joy while developing their gross motor skills.

Art and Craft Room

We conduct many art activities for students during the week. Our loving teachers sit with the students and teach them to draw and paint and encourage them to make their masterpieces. We conduct many arts and craft activities like drawing, colouring, poster making, shapes made with ice-cream sticks, wall-chart making, stencils tracing, leaf painting, foot-prints, free-hand drawing and many more.

Exploratory Room

Students explore the world through play; exploratory play develops the logical reasoning, pincer grip, fine motor movements and cultural development. Exploratory play involves the student using all their Senses to do Role Play, Sensory Integration, Puzzles, Block Building, Geographical location, Science Corner, Eye-Hand Coordination games, Buttoning, Patterning, Sequencing and Cutting.

Interactive Session

When students participate in interactive learning, they engage their multiple senses at once. They aren't just reading or listening; they are also watching, participating, experiencing and engaging. This level of engagement uses multiple parts of their growing brains and makes it easier for them to retain information.

PROGRAMS

Beginners (Nursery)

Transitioning from home to school is always tough for a student who is just 3 years of age. It is also a heart-wrenching situation for the parents after enrolling their child in Nursery. For the first time, the student is away from the parents for long hours. We understand this situation is tough for the student to deal with. To make this necessary transition easier, our facilitators strive to develop trust and a friendly bond with the student.

We believe that a strong bond between students and facilitators is essential to have positive outcomes for intellectual and physical growth. It’s the reason why, our facilitators constantly engage in collaborative endeavours with learners.
Learners are encouraged to participate in various fun activities like role play, scribbling, colouring, building blocks, yoga and many more.
Facilitators pay close attention to each student and understand their needs. This helps them in formulating a customised activity plan for each student. We understand that each student has their way of grasping things.
At this stage, we strive to activate the self-learning mode in a student. Our Facilitators encourage the student to experiment, explore, and find logical ways to solve a problem.
Once students are settled emotionally, we start working on their concept knowledge and social skills like working in groups, cooperation, listening and learning from their environment. Students are introduced to early literacy skills, numerical concepts and interpersonal skills along with creative art-based activities.
As students at this age are extremely curious, inquisitive and full of queries, they are encouraged to ask questions, explore, experiment, and communicate physically and verbally.
We consistently focus on developing the following skills for holistic development:

- Physical Development-Fine Motor and Gross Motor Skills

Level 1 (Junior Kindergarten)

In Junior KG sessions, students are about 4 years of age. They are exposed to the foundational skills in language and mathematics. As the days progress, they are settled first and then additional activities are included to upgrade their learnings as per the age. Facilitator in each class strives to cultivate interest and inculcate love for learning by helping them to spell and read.

Students are engaged with spontaneous activities to motivate them to explore phonetics, numerical abilities and socially acceptable behaviour.

Apart from academics, students are also encouraged to pursue creative interests through arts, crafts and storytelling sessions.

They also learn to perform physical exercises and discover the joy of music with songs, instrumental music and dance. Special Days are organized to focus exclusively on essential life skills and learning to be independent.

Level 2 (Senior Kindergarten)

In the Senior KG sessions, students are around 5 years of age. Here, there is enhanced focus on building vocabulary, expanding attention span, adding on the foundations in math, science and languages, along with a simultaneous pursuit in creative arts – music, drawing, dance and drama.

Our Facilitators at this stage endeavor to develop language and confidence dimensions in a student’s personality. We achieve these objectives by involving the students in multiple activities such as Classroom Events, Celebrations, Elocution, Assembly, Drama, Sports Day and Annual Day.

We also strive to instill values and empathy through our signature social initiative – PEHEL- Joy of Giving. In multiple ways, we help our learners prepare for the next stage in life: the transition from pre-school to primary school.

Daycare

We see Daycare as a seamless opportunity to build a strong foundation in a child’s life. Our staff at Daycare try to create a stimulating atmosphere that is challenging yet delightful for young students. We aim to make the child easily explore and understand the world around them.

Our nurturing Facilitators open the doors of dynamic learning for the child with attention to sensory learning and exploring new themes daily.

A few activities at Daycare:

Students are lovingly made to do fun activities like squeezing a soft ball, twisting a rope, gripping a toy, pouring water, moulding clay, climbing stairs, etc. These things are done to help students refine their motor skills.
Students learn eye-hand coordination and grip by playing with block toys of alphabet/numbers.
Facilitators help the learners in eating with a spoon independently and dress up on their own.
Revisions are conducted concerning number sequences, patterns and shapes. Sessions are also planned to broaden understanding about different colours, shapes, objects, and environments.
Students are engaged in recitation of poems, rhymes and fairytales.
Group activities are conducted to encourage interactions and boost social skills.

ACTIVITIES

Teachers at GSBB have a friendly, approachable demeanour and an awareness of the requirements of young children. Teachers with great communication skills, creativity, energy, attention, and dedication, as well as a Diploma in Education or Nursery Teacher's Training or a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, are sought. At GSBB our teachers focus on the learning curve of every child and encourage the children to question, hypothesise, analyse, and explore their own strengths and weaknesses. A welcoming environment is created for the children, encouraging our kids to look forward to school every day. Utmost effort is put in by the school, teachers, and staff, for students to have a great experience at GSBB.

Special Day

The celebrations of days like Vocabulary Day, Shape Day, Colour Day, Dress Me Up, Children's Day and others, right from nursery, boost the very concept of jubilation among students.

Vocabulary Day

The idea behind a "Vocabulary Day" is to used an educational or fun event to promote language learning and vocabulary development in kids.

Shapes & Colour Day

It is a day of fun with Shapes at GSBB. Various activities are organised for the students to encourage participation and to promote creative and aesthetic skills. This special day is a great way to celebrate the beauty of colour. It's also an opportunity for all the students to explore their creativity by using different colours and textures.

Dress Me Up

Students learn about organising, choice and being independent on Dress Me Up, where they decide and wear their clothes to school on their own.

Events

Event days are exciting common cultural days like Rakshabhandan, Janmashtami, Independence day, Republic Day and many more spread throughout the year, when we organise a variety of activities on each of these events for our students to participate in and enjoy. Each of these event days fosters a sense of community, encourages talent and skill development, and provides an opportunity for our students to have fun while learning.

Stage Activity

Stage exposure bolsters students' creative expression and self-esteem. So at GSBB we provide a platform to help them in overcoming their stage or crowd phobia.

Sports Day

It emphasises the importance of regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle and brings people together regardless of their background, language, or beliefs.

Annual Concerts

Annual Concerts are really important for our students because it helps them to get involved in extracurricular activities and develop confidence, social interaction , expressions and cultural aspect of the child. Annual days represent a mixture of acknowledging achievements of the students and also a lot of fun and joy the students bring to all through their performance on stage.

Sci-fari

Sci-fari is an opportunity for students to inculcate a scientific temper and satisfy their curiosity about the world they see. It’s an introduction to science and how things work by doing hands-on projects like growing and making wheatgrass juice, preparing curd, working with models and conducting experiments.

Weekly Assembly

Our weekly assembly is a regular gathering of students, teachers, and sometimes parents or other members of the school community. These assemblies serve several important purposes for us, such as fostering a sense of community, providing information and updates, celebrating achievements and reinforcing school values and culture.

Sunitadevi Gopal Sharma laid the foundation stone of this institution on 29th March 1999 to fulfill my father's dream. With my mother's blessings, I have been able to make his dream a reality. On behalf of our Managing body, Smt. We are very much satisfied with the grooming of Inaaya. Her overall development is very encouraging. Her aptitude and attitude is developing well. She learns lots of new things daily and communicates to us wonderfully. We appreciate the efforts of the teachers and school in planning various activities to encourage holistic learning and development. The science project activity was conducted in an excellent fashion, giving all the children the opportunity to learn and grasp new concepts, while enhancing their public speaking finess.
